Our Princess and Outdoor Boy

Sydney just turned 5 this month and we had a grand birthday party. She was overjoyed to have a princess birthday cake (that she personally chose from Meijer) and received lots of princess dolls & accessories as gifts. It's not that she ignores the other toys, but she is REALLY in the princess mode. Everyday, she wears a tiara, neclace and princess slippers and trots around the house carrying her magic wand. Everyday she insists that she wears a dress, even to play outside on the swings. She has quickly made new friends with the neighbor kids and looks forward to playing with them every evening. Somedays, she doesn't get to bed till 9:30, because these kids are so busy playing outside.

Caleb, on the other hand, is really into the outdoors. As long as it's not raining, he wants to be outside. He loves chasing the birdies across the lawn, throwing rocks across the street, picking mommy's flowers and throwing them all over the lawn and pushing his lawn mower toy. When it's time to come inside, he gets very upset. He plays hard outside that he doesn't wake up till 9 a.m., some mornings (that includes having a 2 hr. nap in the afternoons). Sometimes, when Sydney is busy with the neighbor kids, Caleb and Mommy will take a walk around the neighborhood and he likes to wave at the cars going by and will usually bring home a handful of rocks.
